Life In Our Community – Shadiest (in a good way) Playgrounds in Davis
Davis is home to 31 parks and over 450 acres of developed landscape (Putah Creek Riparian Center and Wildhorse Agricultural Path are some of our favorites!).
Summers in Davis are hot, rejuvenating and so much fun! We spent this summer exploring the city in search of the shadiest playgrounds in Davis. Plan your next picnic or popsicle meet up today!
Here are the top contenders:
- Mace Ranch Park
- Pioneer Park
- Slide Hill Park
- Village Park
- Chestnut Park
- West Manor Park
- Westwood Park
- Whaleback Park
- Sycamore Park
Mace Ranch Park – one of our favorites! This park has it all – basketball courts, swings, bathrooms, covered picnic area, council circle, and more! The evening sunlight is golden and ideal for beautiful photography.
Pioneer Park – Perfect for younger and older kids. It also has a zipline similar to Arroyo Park!
Slide Hill Park – home to Manor pool, baseball fields, playground for all ages…and of course, the legendary cement slide. Bring some cardboard!
Village Park – this sweet neighborhood park in South Davis (not in Village Homes) is cozy and the most shaded. It doesn’t have a bathroom so prepare accordingly.
Chestnut Park – this is an awesome park that checks all the right boxes! Bathroom, basketball courts, playgrounds for all children, and shade galore!
West Manor Park – an ideal park for small and older kids! Perfect spot to make unforgettable memories.
Westwood Park – Great for small and older kids! It is worth noting that the playground for younger kids is a small distance away from the playground for older kids.
Whaleback Park – what a magical, whimsical park! It is perfect for playing, picnicking, and letting your adventurous spirit free!
Sycamore Park – Heavenly for small and older kids! Located next to Willett Elementary School, there is plenty of space to burn off energy.
